Sol-Ice Christmas

About six months ago, I started doing some contract work for a local roofing company called Sol-Ice Engineered Systems. They have developed some really cool and completely concealed roofing products for ice dam prevention and also solar thermal (check out their website: www.sol-ice.com). I am now the head of their design and estimating department and they have quickly become one of my biggest clients.

For our company Christmas party in December, we all gathered spare gloves, hats, and socks and then gave them out to homeless people around Pioneer Park. It was a really great experience for all of us, especially the kids. Another family was there handing out lunches and the dad said something that really struck me. He said, "We're all really only a few paychecks away from being here." We've definitely felt that this past year and feel very fortunate for what we do have.
