Paul Kruger is still open!

For those of you not interested in football, or those of you unfortunate enough to be BYU fans, you may want to skip this post. For those of you who are interested, the game can pretty much be summarized like this:

- Brian Johnson: 30/36, 303 YDS, 4 TD, 0 INT
- Max Hall: 21/41, 205 YDS, 0 TD, 6 TURNOVERS (5 INT, 1 fumble)

BYU's website claims the game was "much closer than the final 48-24 score". Let me translate. It was close at kickoff - just like every other game. It was close again at the end of the second quarter, right before Max Hall threw an interception and was called for a personal foul, leading to another Utah touchdown and single-handedly killing any momentum BYU would have had going into halftime. And it was close again for a few minutes at the end of the 3rd quarter, right before Max Hall fumbled and killed a good drive that could have put the Cougars ahead. In the fourth quarter, BYU flat out "self-destructed" (as Bronco Mendenhall put it). The Utes scored three more touchdowns, all as a result of Max Hall interceptions. Bottom line: BYU made a lot of mistakes and the Utes made them pay for it. You can't turn the ball over six times and expect to win. Period.
